HSW Considerations for Large Vertical Openings

to take this course

In this one-hour course, we’ll discuss flexible spaces and the different types of vertical openings available. We’ll discuss how they’re built, differences in operation, customizations and design constraints that can have an impact on the health, safety and welfare of building occupants. We will also talk about environmental impacts of your opening’s design and how that can affect your choice in door type and final design.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Identify and articulate customizations and design options to decrease acoustical impacts, or increase energy, and air infiltration efficiency.
  2. Confidently discuss safety features, egress needs, and available options to consider for emergency situations.
  3. Describe specialty cladding options and potential ratings for impact and wind rated systems.
