Title: Understanding Recycled Content Surfacing Material: It’s value under LEED® and beyond

This 1 hour program = 1 AIA/HSW/SD LU,
1 GBCI LU and 0.1 IDCEC CEU
At the conclusion of this course, the participant will gain knowledge on the following:
1. Define the difference between “green” buildings and “green” products
2. List the benefits of recycling
3. Describe the basics of the different recycled content products
4. Compare and contrast traditional surfacing materials to recycled surfacing products
5. Describe recycled content surfacing materials and their manufacturing process
6. Explain the advantages of resin-based recycled content surfacing to other products that are typically specified
7. Explain how recycled products can contribute (directly and indirectly) to obtaining points under the LEED program
8. Describe what Cradle-to-Cradle and GreenGuard certifications are and why they are important
9. Explain the importance of specifying and using recycled content surfacing products as related to environmental issues
10. Explain the importance of going BEYOND “green”
