| ABOUT
THE ARTIST - GEORGE SFARNAS |
Hello, my name is George
Sfarnas. I am a cartoonist and
animator. From an early age, I knew I wanted to work in the
field of entertainment. As a teenager, I began performing
stand-up comedy in night clubs (including the Improv in NYC
when I was 16), then I attended film school and also studied
acting. My interests began to narrow on visual media, cartooning
and sculpting. I began producing clay animated tv ads and
corporate productions from my home studio. Some of my clients
included Prudential Realty, Southeast Toyota, The Children's
Services Council, Indian River Select Juice, Cruise One,
and many others. I refined my interests even further and
began selling comic panels and illustrations to publications
and businesses. I then launched two comic strips, Prune
Juice,
and then Being Five. The reception was great, with both comics
having a dedicated fan base (whom I feel a kindred friendship
with), and both have been widely praised by industry insiders.
I
am working with GreenCE.com on Green
Juice Comics to bring sustainable
design humor to tens of thousands of design professionals
who visit GreenCE.com to
take their continuing education courses. My thanks to
all the architects, engineers, interior
designers, landscape architects and students who are the "Green
Juice" that fuels our future quality of life, where
we work, play and live. |
| ECO'S
CORNER |
|
Eco's
Corner is where you can contact Eco our friendly
African tree frog. Where else can you email a frog for
a biased view of green building and sustainable design? |
| Do
you have funny story, joke or bit of irony you wish
to share? Email Eco at Eco@GreenCE.com to
see if he thinks it's funny and perhaps your story will
appear in Green Juice Comics. |

T.
- New York, NY writes: Eco... what is your opinion
on global warming? |
| Eco: My
pond is
in San Antonio, Texas and our high temperatures have been
over 100 degrees every day for almost 3
months. Seems strange to me but I don't travel much because
African tree frogs are on the DHS's no fly list... (sigh). |
| Jane
H. - Tampa, FL writes: How did you become fluent
in the English language? |
| Eco:
Most upwardly mobile tree frogs like
me... have picked up the lingo from listening to online
Podcasts. I would own an I-Phone
myself but they are way too big to backpack. |
| Eric
- Portland, OR writes: Thank you for taking
the time on your website to explain why GBCI is revamping
their LEED program and more particularly, their continuing
ed for their LEED AP’s. |
| Eco: You
are welcome Eric. We here at www.GreenCE.com like to
"Hop the Hop" when it comes to LEED certification
and accreditation. Just recently
Landon Boone,
our Chief Operating Officer, was accredited as a LEED AP.
I am green with envy. |
| Robert
M. - Dallas, TX writes: Eco... why have you
waited until now to speak up on environmental issues? |
| Eco: When
you grow up in a large family like mine you learn to share
resources, not waste what the pond gives you and I just
figured out what the definition of "is" is. |
| Robert
M. follows up: Large family huh? |
| Eco: Yes...
mother says I have 2,342,489 siblings. |
