Sustainable Plumbing Design for LEED Projects

Sustainable Plumbing Design for LEED Projects

to take this course

In this presentation, we discuss how specifying sustainable plumbing products can help contribute to LEED v4.1 certification. Our team examines how to achieve the LEED v4.1 Water Use Reduction credit as well as several LEED v4.1 BPDO credits. We review sustainable manufacturing practices and why design professionals should specify products that reduce environmental impacts, water consumption, and material waste.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Examine how design professionals can achieve the LEED v4.1 BD+C and ID+C credit Indoor Water Use Reduction and how this reduces environmental impacts and affects building occupants
  2. Discuss how LEED project teams can achieve the LEED v4.1 BD+C and ID+C credit BPDO: Environmental Product Declarations and how EPDs can assist designers in selecting sustainable plumbing products and making a more environment-friendly work space
  3. Describe how design professionals can achieve the LEED v4.1 BD+C and ID+C credit BPDO: Material Ingredients using the Health Product Declaration (HPD) and reduce potential health hazards for building occupants.
  4. Review how sustainable manufacturing practices can help reduce environmental impacts and reduce energy, water consumption, and material waste.Review water efficiency standards for LEED v4.1 and how they impact building occupants.
