This course will better inform the architect and designer about decorative hardwood plywood in terms of its manufacture, uses, types, and sustainable attributes. The architect and the designer will gain an understanding of the different adhesives and core material options available, which options are more sustainable, and which options are most commonly used. Participants will also know what to look for in order to successfully specify decorative hardwood plywood and how the material can contribute to LEED & LBC projects
Richard advises Columbia customers and specifiers about the use of its PureBond formaldehyde-free hardwood plywood in projects where sustainability and indoor air quality are priorities, including LEED projects. He regularly conducts green training seminars for architects, designers, distributors, and fabricators. Richard also works with a team on the development and sale of CFP’s specialty product offering.
Richard graduated from North Carolina State University in 1995 with a B.S in Wood Products and a minor in Business Management. Richard is a founding member of the USGBC Piedmont Triad North Carolina Chapter and served on USGBC Southeast Regional council from 2008-2010
