We have extensive experience dealing with the ADA Title III, ANSI and state-specific accessibility overlays including California, Texas, Florida, Illinois, Georgia and Arizona.
This course provides architects and engineers with a comprehensive review of key ADA requirements related to doors, protruding objects, sales and service counters, and dining and seating areas. Participants will explore practical strategies for designing and evaluating these elements to ensure accessible, functional, and inclusive spaces. Emphasis is placed on real-world applications, including proper signage, maneuvering clearances, and counter and seating layouts that accommodate diverse users. The course equips design professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to create environments that enhance accessibility, ease of use, and comfort for all occupants.
- Apply ADA measurement standards for doors, signage, counters, and seating to create accessible and functional environments for all building users.
- Determine proper placement and design of signage to enhance wayfinding, visibility, and ease of navigation for occupants with diverse needs.
- Design and evaluate counters that meet accessibility requirements while supporting efficient and inclusive interactions at sales and service areas.
- Plan and configure seating areas, including dining and public spaces, to provide equitable access, comfort, and usability for all users, including calculating required accessible seating.
